Visiting from Traverse City, or sending the papers by mail

From Traverse City, the 14 h 16 min drive and a counter that takes papers only in the morning add up to two days: one to arrive near Washington, D.C., one at the Embassy.

For a same-day NVR, the Embassy takes passports only early in the morning, which from Traverse City means arriving the day before.

For an e-passport, the Embassy sends you to the slots inside epassport.gov.bd, and for an NVR you can walk in.
