The consulate that covers Maine
How far the consulate is from your city

| City | Consulate | Distance | Journey |
|---|---|---|---|
| Portland | New York | 309 miles | 6 h 28 min by car |
| Lewiston | New York | 341 miles | 7 h 1 min by car |
| Bangor | New York | 439 miles | 8 h 51 min by car |
From Bangor that is 8 h 51 min by car each way, which makes it worth checking the consular outreach schedule before committing to the drive: missions bring passport and dual citizenship services to cities without a consulate, and the appointments are free.
Three procedures that never reach a counter
A large share of the trips people make to a Philippine consulate were never necessary. These three are handled entirely elsewhere:
The short version: PSA certificates are ordered online from Manila, apostilles on documents issued in Maine come from the state's own competent authority, since 15 May 2019 the consulate cannot authenticate them, and the NBI clearance travels by mail; its fingerprints can be taken at a consulate or at a police station, according to the NBI.
Set against that, two things cannot be delegated or posted: passport biometrics and the RA 9225 oath. A notarial document can go either way, signed at the consulate or before a local notary with an apostille, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate.
It is worth ruling out the procedures that do not need you there at all before booking anything.

We check the details regularly, but they can change without notice, always confirm with the consulate before you travel.
