Idaho is served by the Philippine Consulate General in Seattle, which reopened recently. Before that the state reported to San Francisco, and several directories, including some official Philippine pages, have not caught up.
The consulate that covers Idaho
How far the consulate is from your city
Driving distances to the consulate that covers each city, calculated at posted speed limits and without traffic:
| City | Consulate | Distance | Journey |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nampa | Seattle | 473 miles | 8 h 48 min by car |
| Meridian | Seattle | 482 miles | 8 h 58 min by car |
| Boise | Seattle | 491 miles | 9 h 9 min by car |
| Idaho Falls | Seattle | 769 miles | 13 h 30 min by car |
From Idaho Falls that is 13 h 30 min by car each way, which makes it worth checking the consular outreach schedule before committing to the drive: missions bring passport and dual citizenship services to cities without a consulate, and the appointments are free.
Before you plan the journey
Three of the most searched Philippine procedures in the United States are not consular procedures at all, and knowing that is worth more than knowing the opening hours:
The short version: PSA certificates are ordered online from Manila, apostilles on documents issued in Idaho come from the state's own competent authority, since 15 May 2019 the consulate cannot authenticate them, and the NBI clearance travels by mail; its fingerprints can be taken at a consulate or at a police station, according to the NBI.
Set against that, two things cannot be delegated or posted: passport biometrics and the RA 9225 oath. A notarial document can go either way, signed at the consulate or before a local notary with an apostille, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate.
By road, Boise is 491 miles from the Seattle consulate (9 h 9 min at posted speed limits). Seattle's pages say passport services are temporarily unavailable during its soft opening.
