How far the consulate is from your city

Driving distances to the consulate that covers each city, calculated at posted speed limits and without traffic:

City Consulate Distance Journey
Little Rock Houston 454 miles 8 h 35 min by car
Fort Smith Houston 522 miles 9 h 25 min by car
Fayetteville Houston 579 miles 10 h 22 min by car

From Fayetteville that is 10 h 22 min by car each way, which makes it worth checking the consular outreach schedule before committing to the drive: missions bring passport and dual citizenship services to cities without a consulate, and the appointments are free.

Before you plan the journey

Before booking anything, check whether your document involves a consulate at all. Three of the most common ones do not:

The short version: PSA certificates are ordered online from Manila, apostilles on documents issued in Arkansas come from the state's own competent authority, since 15 May 2019 the consulate cannot authenticate them, and the NBI clearance travels by mail; its fingerprints can be taken at a consulate or at a police station, according to the NBI.

Set against that, two things cannot be delegated or posted: passport biometrics and the RA 9225 oath. A notarial document can go either way, signed at the consulate or before a local notary with an apostille, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate.

By road, Little Rock is 454 miles from the Houston consulate (8 h 35 min at posted speed limits). PSA certificates, apostilles and NBI clearances can be handled without a visit to a consulate.
