Bangladesh consulate for American Samoa

Checked against the official pages on 22 October 2026. How we check.

American Samoa is one of the five U.S. territories that the Embassy’s passport page sends to Washington. The trip is a series of flights, so this page focuses on what can be done by mail.

Which Bangladesh consulate serves American Samoa?

American Samoa is one of the five U.S. territories that the Embassy’s passport page names among the places that apply to Washington (source). The three consulates general cover eight states each and no territory.

Cities in American Samoa and their Bangladesh office

City Getting there
Pago Pago by air

The one place listed for American Samoa, Pago Pago, has no road link to its Bangladeshi office: an in-person visit means flying.

In a straight line, the Bangladesh Consulate General in Los Angeles is closer than the Embassy’s consular wing in Washington to the one city this site lists in American Samoa. Distance does not decide the office: the published list does.

Birth and marriage records in American Samoa for a Bangladeshi office

In American Samoa, the CDC’s directory sends birth certificate requests to the Office of Vital Statistics of the American Samoa Government, in Pago Pago, at PO Box 6894, Pago Pago, AS 96799, for $5.00 a certified copy (CDC, Where to Write for Vital Records).

Its note on those records reads: “Registrar has records since 1890”.

For a marriage registered in American Samoa, the directory sends requests to “Office of Vital Statistics” (CDC, Where to Write for Vital Records).

For a U.S. paper from American Samoa, the state’s apostille is an option since 30 March 2025, when the Convention began to apply between the two countries (HCCH status table). Check with whoever will receive it in Bangladesh, because the consular pages still ask for attestation.

For state documents the competent authority is generally the Secretary of State’s office (HCCH).

What you can settle without going to the consulate

These steps can begin without a visit.

  • You can mail an NVR application with a prepaid USPS return envelope: No Visa Required (NVR).
  • You can apply for the police clearance certificate online at pcc.police.gov.bd: Police clearance.
  • You can apply for the dual nationality certificate online, straight to the Security Services Division, and pay by card: Dual nationality certificate.

E-passport enrollment is a biometric visit in person, and the Embassy says there is no alternative to it, so mail is not an option for that step.
