Philippine Consulate in Fort Collins, CO
If you searched for the Philippine consulate in Fort Collins, the short answer is that there isn't one: jurisdiction sits with the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, and 1,188 miles away, about 20 h 23 min by road. The longer answer, which matters more, is that you may not need to make that trip at all.
Where Fort Collins is served from
Jurisdiction runs by state, and Colorado, all of it, is assigned to San Francisco. The same consulate covers Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Northern California (46 counties, from Alameda to Yuba) and Northern Nevada (Carson City and 13 counties). See the Colorado page for the rest of the state's cities and distances.
1,188 miles between Fort Collins and its consulate is the kind of distance that decides behaviour: people postpone, documents expire, and then the trip becomes urgent. Doing the paperwork early is worth more here than anywhere.
Colorado also has a Philippine Honorary Consulate in Denver, under the consulate in San Francisco. Its page gives the contact details from the official lists; passports and dual citizenship are booked with San Francisco.
Watch for consular outreach missions before committing to the full journey. Consulates travel to underserved cities with passport biometrics and dual citizenship ceremonies; the appointments cost nothing, and for somewhere this far from the consulate a mission is usually the practical route. How they are booked is in the appointment guide.
What never requires the journey
Three of the most searched Philippine procedures in the United States are not consular procedures at all:
- PSA documents, the security-paper certificates everything else depends on, are ordered online and shipped internationally.
- Apostilles on American documents come from the issuing state’s competent authority. Since 15 May 2019 the consulate cannot authenticate them.
- The NBI clearance is issued in the Philippines. The fingerprint card can be done at a consulate or, the NBI says, at the nearest police station.
The counter is unavoidable for passport biometrics and the RA 9225 oath. A notarial document can also be done by a local notary with an apostille, according to the notarial page of the Chicago consulate. Everything else deserves a second look before you drive.
